How to Become a Paramedic

Being a paramedic is both challenging and rewarding, and requires you to think on your feet, and stay abreast of the latest developments. Action Training Academy (ATA) offers a large variety of training courses. Backed by our experience and knowledge, we will provide you with the correct training and skills in the field of emergency services. Led by a team who have been actively involved in paramedic training in South Africa for the last four decades, we will ensure that you are able to perform under adverse circumstances and improve the quality of patient care in any pre-hospital environment.

You must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a Grade 12 qualification
  • Be 18 years or older
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Be able to work well under pressure

What qualifications do paramedics need?

There are numerous study options available, and your qualification depends on your chosen field. ATA has a variety of paramedic courses, ranging from Paediatric First Aid to Basic Ambulance Assistance. In addition to these, we offer American Heart Association courses and Continual Professional Development (CPD) courses. Through our network of contacts and associations, we are able to facilitate and introduce learners – or professional practitioners – to the appropriate training routes or institutions.
